Calliope Bookshelf is proud to foster the love of literature and creative gift-giving in Northern Macomb County and surrounding areas. Our bookstore offers a curated selection of new titles, best-sellers, and all-time favorites chosen to enrich, engage, and inspire readers of all ages.
Calliope Bookshelf also provides shoppers with a hand-picked selection of bookish sideline merchandise; locally sourced, USA-made, and products with a purpose fill the shelf space in between books. Our store welcomes authors, writers, book clubs, and educators to utilize our space for community engagement.

Calliope Bookshelf was established in 2025 by Owner Debra Kerr. Deb’s dream was to create a space that nurtures literacy, learning, imagination and purposeful social interaction.
Her vision was contrary to other bookstore models – she didn’t intend to open a quiet store. Calliope Bookshelf was designed to spark conversation, open minds, buzz with joy and enrich the lives of the patrons, neighbors, and friends that walked in the door.
